Solar Power

Why Go Solar?

Save thousands of dollars by adding a solar photovoltaic system to your home. You can eliminate your electric bill all-together, or add enough PV panels to lower your usage to baseline.

How Does Solar Work?

Your solar system is placed on your roof or on racks where the sun will shine. The system feeds electricity into your home first, and the left-over energy goes into your local utility company's grid. If you use less electricity than your panels produce, then your meter will spin backwards as your excess electricity is fed back into the grid.

Solar power is finally affordable to the average home owner!

Federal Tax Credits:

Recently, due to federal legistlation, the Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC) allows you to receive 30% of the total cost of solar as a tax credit. This tax credit is not capped and can roll over to the next year until it is completely used. This is an unprecedented move by the government, determined to improve America's independence from foreign oil.

California Tax Rebates:

In 2006, the State of California passed the California Solar Initiative, setting the goal of creating 3,000 megawatts of new, solar facilities by 2017. $2.1 billion of funds were created to help home owners lower their energy costs over the next 10 years. Currently, PG&E offers rebates for solar at $350 per kilowatt installed, or 35 cents per watt.

Authorized California Dealer:

Skyline Energy Savers Inc. is one of the few companies authorized by the State of California to install solar electricity for your home.
